Grab your hiking shoes and come to Kolapore Springs Fish Hatchery for a magical afternoon! Enjoy delicious and creative dishes created by over 12 top local and Toronto restaurants while strolling through the Kolapore Uplands Forest, just west of Collingwood. Equally delicious libations by local wineries and breweries are matched with the treats. This is topped off with great music by local artists.
Great food, drink and music in a magnificent environment makes for a memorable afternoon!
This year, Kolapore Springs has partnered with Foodlink Grey Bruce to provide participating restaurants unique ingredients from our own local producers and farmers.
The 2nd Annual Feast in the Forest is hosted by Kolapore Springs in support of local organizations. This year's 'Feast' is in support of Elephant Thoughts (www.elephantthoughts.com) & Beaver Valley Outreach (www.bvo.ca). Elephant Thoughts is based in Collingwood and establishes schools in underdeveloped areas nationally and globally. Beaver Valley Outreach, based in Thornbury, is a local organization providing the community with many excellent programs and services.
Tickets - $100 per person OR buy a group of 4 tickets or more (and car pool!) for $75 per ticket. A map and directions will be emailed directly to guests (so you don't get lost in the forest).

This will be huge – 3rd annual (at least). Come by the Kimberley General Store from 10-2pm for an amazing seedling sale – this will be a great opportunity to meet & greet with local growers – ask questions & stock up on seeds & seedlings for your bodacious gardens this summer!

Participants: Kolapore Gardens, Fiddlehead Nurseries and Free Spirit Gardens.

Come out to our first fundraiser for the market: One of our vendors, Steven Morel, is a professional musician as well as a sourdough bread expert, and his partner, Jenny Parsons, is a comedienne/actor. Jenny is hosting " Music & Magic for the Market Poster at Victoria Jubilee Hall in Walkerton on May 25th at 8 p.m. It is going to be an incredibly fun evening of Jenny's fabulous comedy and magic (no, it's not a children's show!) and several local music acts. We have Steven's duo, She Likes Fiction, Walkerton native Dennis Bushell doing his Elvis impersonation, local lads Kung-Fu Lawyers (who opened for us last summer and are playing again on our opening day in June), and some interviews with "celebrity farmers". I promise you it will be a night of great entertainment. The musicians are all top notch and if you've not seen Jenny, you are in for a treat! Funniest woman I know!! At intermission you will be able to browse through our mini market, meeting our vendors and seeing their wares, and refreshments will be made by our vendors. You will also have the chance to win a huge basket of market goodies - maple syrup, preserves, fresh bread, dukkah (and if you don't know what dukkah is, that is reason enough to come to our show!!), hummus, early spring veggies, coupons to buy meat and fish..... yum!!

Tickets are $15 and are available at Holst's and A & R Music in Walkerton. Please buy them ahead so we know how much food to make, and please bring folks who don't know about the market yet. Support local food!!

Sun May 26th: MEAFORD SEEDY SUNDAY! (11-3)

To be held at The Market/EcoInhabit on HWY 26, this event will be a seed swap & seedling sale coupled with a barbeque, live music compliments of Drew McIvor, free heirloom seed give-away & lots and lots of amazing seedlings to choose from! Kolapore Gardens will be offering free seeds from Goddess Grown Heirlooms.

Mon May 27th: Work Bee at the Farm. (1-4pm)

We will probably be transplanting – please RSVP if you plan to join us! This will be an amazing opportunity to get some dirt under your finger nails, soak up some delicious sun (hopefully) and learn about organic agriculture. Did you know that gardening can relieve stress, calm you down & help you feel at peace with the universe?
